Me, Myself & AI

We’re heading to SXSW in March 2020 to debut our latest experiment.

We’re giving over our phone data, vlog entries and social media info to an AI in an experiment that will see us create our own artificial clones and explore ideas of self in an age of machine learning and big data. The AI system will be a fusion of state-of-the-art techniques in Deep Learning and Natural Language Processing, and from the collection of our personal data, the AI will generate a visual and conversational artificial representation of ourselves.

We will be presenting our process, reveal results and introduce our AI clones at SXSW 2020, hosting a conversation on stage between ourselves and our Version 2.0s to see how similar our views are. We want to get the audience involved, by encouraging attendees to pose questions to both us and our clones to see if we answer in the same way. Will machine learning imbue our clones with our morals, passions and temperaments as well as our opinions, or will our clones form different views? Will potential inaccuracies in our digital clones highlight risks involved with governments, advertisers and corporations in creating profiles of us? We’re ready to find out.
