HAPPY FINISH WERE INVITED TO CREATE A UNIQUE IMMERSIVE AND EDUCATIONAL THEATRE SPACE, THE OPITO THEATRE OF ENERGY, WITHIN THE SCIENCE CENTRE.

We designed, created, built and installed the multifunctional immersive theatre space combining Body Tracking AI, Projection Mapping, Real-Time Procedural asset creation, real game physics, laser scanning of the city centre and conversion of the data.

Within the space, there are three educational experiences: The Energy Show, The Energy Game and The Energy Wall. These were created all with the aim to bring the energy story to life in an engaging and educational way, supporting STEM learning for children and adults.

THE STORY OF ENERGY

Using the latest projection mapping technology, ‘The Story Of Energy’ is projected over two walls providing a stunning introduction to how having a mix of energy sources is important to our lives, and how it is shaped by our demand. The key message is to remind us that we all demand energy and that everyone can play their part in reducing our energy needs and developing a clean energy mix and a more sustainable world.

THE ENERGY WALL

This features seven of the core stores of energy; Chemical, Mechanical, Thermal, Electrical, Magnetic, Kinetic and Gravitational. Using body tracking AI, visitors can pick  one with hand gestures and see their body take on the energy store properties on the wall in front of them.

Opito director of external affairs Jill Glennie:

Has said the exhibit is “an excellent platform to reach young people, schoolteachers, families and the community”

She added: “As the sector looks to navigate the energy transition and achieve Roadmap 2035, it’s vital that we communicate and promote the new transformational roles industry will need in the coming years, and how they will play a major role in achieving our net zero goals.”
