‘Great Day Out’ campaign retouch

New adventures just a train away with Mersey Rail

Mersey Rail approached Happy Finish to help them create a visually exciting imagery for their Autumn campaign. The aim of the brief was to showcase all the excitement and adventures available just a train ride away with Mersey Rail.

Our retouch artist Sophie Morrison was in charge of bringing this concept to life, who was delighted to collaborate in this project: “This job was one of my favourites I’ve worked on, it had so much character and charm to it and after working with Loaf Creative previously on their Grand National campaign it was great to be working with their team again”.

The final piece of work was created as a multi-part composite of photographic elements combined with of a range stock imagery. A total of around 30-40 images were integrated together to create the final image.

Explaining the brief, Sophie Morrison explains: “Starting with an empty train carriage I layered up each image, representing a different activity, from back to front. This concept allowed me to create a lot of depth in the image, which resulted in a really engaging image”.

She also comments: “The challenge of combining such a vary of stock imagery with photographic assets was daunting at first, but I’m so pleased with the result. Since this project, I have gone on to develop a great stock of photography workflow and have used it on a lot of several big campaigns since.”
