A touch of Christmas sparkle for Molton Brown

London’s best-smelling bath & beauty connoisseurs, Molton Brown, wanted to create a magical distillery feel for their 2018 digital Christmas campaign – so our team of CG animators and retouch artist Chris Roome set about making it happen with a series of cinemagraphs and festive animations. 

This was Molton Brown’s largest ever CG campaign, centred around the launch of their new seasonal scent, Muddled Plum. We generated assets to sculpt a shimmering environment, building CG conveyor belts, pressure gauges and more to create a factory feel. 2D glitter and cloud elements were composited alongside the CG assets to liven up the scene and add depth.

As a final flourish, our retouch artist Chris Roome also created a series of cinemagraphs, adding movement to the product stills by introducing popping bubbles, sparkles and glints of light.

The animations and cinemagraphs are being used extensively by Molton Brown online, on social channels and their website, as well as on digital screens across all stores in the lead up to Christmas.
