The first narrative-based 360 VR film for an automotive brand in India
Happy Finish created this full CG 360 film for Renault India to support the pre-launch on the ground activation campaign for the new Renault Kwid (an SUV-inspired small car) for the Indian market.
This unique Virtual Reality content is the first narrative-based 360 VR film for an automotive brand in India, and narrates the story of two friends headed to a campsite in their Renault Kwid. The features of the exterior and interior of the car were highlighted through the narrative, while giving viewers their first glimpse of the car.
The VR experience was shown across various activation centers (malls and dealerships) using the Oculus DK2, at booths where the car was parked for consumers to enjoy. However, since the interior of the car remained inaccessible to potential consumers before the launch, the 360 video served as a perfect way to get a feel of the car.
This VR experience embellished in the ‘Live For More’ tagline that the Renault Kwid represents. The video used a low-poly design style for the environment and characters, so the car stood out in the experience.
