Virginia Macari Swimwear 2017 campaign: a splash of beauty, style and sophistication
This story showcases Virginia Macari’s 2017 collection, featuring Brazilian model Cindy Mello is captured in a variety of alluring poses, alongside beautiful beaches, rocks and sky.
The location selected for the shooting was Lagos in Portugal, a place with an incredible coastline lined with deep red brown sandstone rocks, which are a key feature to this series.
Retouch artist Rob Dewey and photographer Jayden Fa have worked together to produce this beautiful compilation of images which will leave no-one indifferent.
Talking about the project, Rob explains: ‘Jayden Fa has a great eye for beauty and marrying the elements of location shoots. My role in retouch was to enhance the inherent qualities throughout and to develop an overall mood, whilst keeping in mind that natural beauty is a key element of these images. In developing the mood, Cindy’s bronzed skin has been tweaked to a reddish-magenta with a touch of blue allowing an harmonious range of warm earthy tones, alongside the cool tropical waters.’
As for the yacht shots at the sea, Rob explains: ‘The water is treated with a deep primary blue, compared to the transparent turquoise of the rocky shallower waters. One of my favourites is of Cindy emerging from the water looking up towards the camera. The silky soft-focused sea accompanied by glistening highlights and flare over her hair, creates a powerful etheric cinematic quality.’
